GRID PROJECTOR PATTERNS

Surfaces such as glass, clear plastic, and finishes resembling mirrors, yield images with extremely low or nonexistent contrast. The Grid Projector accessory enables you to measure these surfaces.

The Grid Projector operates by projecting a grid pattern onto the part's surface from behind the front objective lens, utilizing an LED source. The system is meticulously designed so that the grid image only becomes sharply focused when the part's surface precisely aligns with the optics' focal plane.

Through this setup, the autofocus routine can leverage the contrast within the grid image as if it were inherent in the part's surface. Thanks to the finely tuned autofocus algorithm tailored to the grid image's characteristics, there is a substantial improvement in repeatability.

Grid Projectors are a feature available in OGP Advanced Production Systems and most OGP SmartScope systems.
